Finally Intel’s Kaby lake line of processor has been finally been launched. And those who are waiting for an upgrade or want to enter PC gaming, you can build a gaming pc under $1000. The performance of them is quite surprising. Not for me, because I predicted it few months back. That post you can see down below.
As of the new line of the Intel processors are launched, it is the best time to build a 1000 dollar gaming pc. Today I will show you how to build a $1000 Intel Kaby lake Gaming build.
So, let’s get started
For the processor I have chosen Intel i5 7500 3.4 GHz Quad core CPU. It has 4 core and 4 threads which are very used to handle CPU intensive titles. It is based on Intel new and improved 14nm fabrication process due to which it is able to achieve higher clock speeds at the same TDP as skylake CPU .
The i5 7500 is the successor of the i5 6500 based on the skylake architecture. It is around 8% faster than the 6500, which is quite respectable as it not based on a completely new architecture. It has the same TDP as skylake but performs better which is nice.
This processor is quite balanced for gaming at 1080p and even 1440p. It will be able to handle any latest titles without any serious bottlenecks.
A good gaming PC is the one who performs and should supports the I/O needs of one. The I/O needs and features are handled by the motherboard itself. So it is important to get the best motherboard for the price. With the launch of Kaby lake , z720 chipset was introduced.
This motherboard lots of feature like M2.SSD, Intel Optane Technology, 2 way crossfire support etc. As Intel’s skylake and Kaby lake uses the same CPU socket it it backwards compatible. It has 4 usb3.0, DVI, VGA and HDMI for display, Gigabit Ethernet port and 7.1 channel audio ports at the back.
The gigabyte GAZ270HD3 is a great motherboard for the price. It support all the latest feature for system builder or gamers needs. This motherboard is quite good for the price and is perfect for our systems.
When sky lake was introduced it came with DDR4 RAM modules. As kaby lake is based on the same architecture it supports the same. They are quite faster and power efficient than its predecessor.
The Ballistix 8GB DDR4 ram sticks are clocked at 2400Mhz out of the box. Ample of ram is require to run resource heavy games at higher resolution and some resource heavy applications indeed. A gaming systems with inadequate ram may suffer from serious bottle necks while gaming.
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SSC
For any gaming pc the graphics card is the most important component other than the CPU. For our build the EVGA GTX 1070 is best choice. It can easily handle games at 1440p, so 1080p 60fps is a piece of cake for it.
The gtx 1070 is based on nvidia’s Pascal architecture which is fabricated using TSMC’s 14nm fabrication process. With this it has been able to achieve 2X the performance per watt. The nvidia pascal cards overclocks pretty compared to it predecessor, so anyone can squeeze out the extra juice in them. It has a TDP of 150W which is quite impressive for the performance it offers.
The GTX 1070 is a great card as it offer great performance for the price. With it our system can play games at 1440p with ease. This card is a monster in term of performance.
To game play games on a gaming PC you need to store it first. So for this the Seagate 1TB Barracuda HDD is the choice for our build.
The Seagate 1 TB HDD spins at 7200rpm and supports SATA 6.0 Gbps transfer rate out of the box. It performs much faster and is reliable than the previous generation of HDD.
The Seagate barracuda is one of the best hard drive in the market for the price. And it perfectly fits in our system.
Hard drives are mainly used to store large games and media files into it. But they are quite slow, bulky and not very power efficient. To solve this SSD were introduced in the market.
The Sandisk 120GB SSD can read and write up to 550 mbps and use SATA 6.0 Gbps as an interface. As the read and write speed are high it can performs much faster than the traditional hard drives. They uses NAND flash memory to achieve this level of performance.
SSD’s has completely changed the storage industry. For our system I will recommend to use it as a boot drive and use it to store resource programs like IDE, editing software etc.
The PSU powers the whole system so it is important to get one which is reliable and performs optimally. So a gold certified PSU will be the best for our system.
The Seasonic G 550 gold can deliver up to 550 watt of power to the system. It is 80 plus gold certified which make quite efficient and reliable by the standards. It is partially modular PSU so it will support number of power connectors configuration out of the box. Overclocking of your graphics card will be no issue as it can deliver the power with an ease.
For our system the Seasonic G550 gold will be perfect as it is reliable, efficient and performs pretty well for the price.
The case of the computer is where all things comes together. So for our build, the Corsair carbide Series 100R is quite a good choice. It is not a looker but does it job in a pretty good.
The 100R is a mid-tower case which supports motherboard of all form factors like ATX,mATX,ITx etc. It comes in a black matte finish, with a side window on the left and basic I/O ports in the front. This supports 2 usb 3.0 with audio/mic jack at the front.
The Carbide 100R is a great case and is very popular among gamers. It offer great features and design for a reasonable price.
The cpu cooler is not necessary for a locked CPU by all means but if you are living in a hot and humid region it might be a good thing to get one . This will help you keep your temps low.
The Hyper EVO 212 is a great cpu air cooler. It has become a goto for anyone who is looking for decent air cooler for a great price. For more look in the link below.
So if you are not on a tight budget , the hyper EVO will greatly help to keep your cpu temperatures low.
Intel’s kaby lake is a not much of a improvement from skylake but it is a great upgrade for the who are still using a 5 year old gaming pc but looking for an upgrade. By anyways this gaming pc build under $1000 will be great for gaming and streaming as well.
So there you go ,if you are looking for 1000 dollar intel build for gaming, streaming pc for the year 2017. By the way I will also be doing a $1000 AMD ryzen build when they get launched. So stay tuned for that.
Till then catch you later guys.
