Build your Gaming PC $450 which is ready for BF1 2016 and 2017

Build gaming pc under $450 2016 2017

There is a myth over the internet that PC gaming is expensive. It may be true but it depends what are you targeting at. If you are looking at 4K build, yes it is expensive as the technology is not up to the mark.

But what about mainstream market, where most of the PC gaming community lies.

The majority of the PC gamer play their games at 1080p resolution.

Today I will show you how can you build a gaming PC for $450, which will let you play Battlefield 1 and other AAA titles of 2017.

So let’s get started.

Intel Pentium G4400 3.3 GHz (Skylake architecture)

Pentium-G4400 processor

I know you must be thinking,

“Why are you suggesting a Pentium which was launched back in 2000, and why not an FX processor?”

A: Fist off all it is based on Intel’s 6th generation Skylake architecture with 14nm lithography and was launched back in November 2015.And for FX processor they are quite old, slower compare to G4400 and you will not have upgrade option in future.

So what do you get with this processor?

It is dual core CPU and has 2 threads which act as two logical cores in the processor. It has Intel HD 510 graphics integrated on to the processor which can used for multimedia application.

As this processor is based on 14nm fabrication is very energy efficient and performs quite well than its predecessor. With 14 nm and architectural Instruction per Clock (IPC) improvement it can achieve higher clock speed than its predecessor without compensating the power and generating less heat.

And by choosing skylake processor we will have option to upgrade to kaby lake next year.

ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon Rx 470 4GB

Asus strix RX470-4GB gaming pc 450 dollar

The AMD’s Polaris architecture has redefined budget gaming. This architecture is able to give performance of a high end graphics card at an affordable price. This card is very efficient thanks to 14nm FinFET fabrication by Digitalfoundry. This card is based on GCN architecture which is well renowned for its DX12 and Vulkan and performance.

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 3GB

zotac geforce GTX 1060 mini 3gb for budget 450 dollar build

This card is based on nvidia’s Pascal architecture which offer great performance for the price. This card is based on the original GTX 1060, but this card has fewer processing units (1152 CUDA cores) and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory. Still this card performs quite well and even beats the RX 470 in many games.

Best graphics cards for 1080p 60fps gaming

This card is quite efficient as it only consume 120W of power thanks to Pascal and 16nm FinFET by TSMC. If you want a alternative to the RX 470 this is the one.

For my money, I’d not take the bet on a Pentium performing well with any game running on the Frostbite engine. The G3258, when it was really popular, didn’t do so well – it got decent FPS, but stuttering was reported as very bad by many users. A safer, similar-priced bet would be the Athlon X4 845, or else you’d better step up to an i3 or wait for AMD’s APUs on AM4.

If you are patient enough you should probably wait for the Bristol ridge APU’s they looks exciting, the g4400 is very entry level CPU there will be some level of stuttering due to bottlenecks. The x4 845 is a good processor, the main reason I didn’t included it is due to lower single and multi threaded performance and no headroom for future upgrade(kaby lake uses same socket) and if you have the cash you should definitely go for i3.

I use a G4400 and I can confirm it CANNOT run BF1 with 60fps at even 900p. I always dip down into the mid 30s to the low 50s. On jungle maps I go sub 30fps. 30fps on a shooter game on multiplayer is a terrible experience. A 750ti has 30-50% GPU usage when playing BF1 and the CPU is 100%. Huge CPU bottleneck. It can play most titles with decent settings but BF1 is not one of them. Less than 50% of the GPU is being used so its pointless to get a 470 or 1 1060.
